Abstract

The genus Priobium Motschulsky, 1845 (Coleoptera: Ptinidae: Anobiinae) is reported for the first time from South Korea with the discovery of the species, Priobium carpini (Herbst, 1793). Biological information is provided for this species, along with a description of the morphological characteristics and photographs of adult specimens. In addition, the damage caused to wooden artifacts by anobiine species in South Korea is summarized.
