Taxonomic Notes on Paradryomyza spinigera Ozerov (Diptera: Dryomyzidae) from South Korea, with Remarks on Morphological and COI Barcode Variation

Abstract

We examined the morphological characters and COI barcode sequences of South Korean specimens of Paradryomyza spinigera Ozerov, 1987 and compared them with previously published records and sequence data from other regions. The South Korean specimens agreed well with the original description in major morphological characters, and COI barcode-based phylogenetic analysis showed that the South Korean sequences formed a distinct subclade within the P. spinigera clade, together with Chinese and Finnish sequences. This study provides detailed photographs of external morphology and genitalia, COI barcode data, and information on regional variation.
